PRIVACY POLICY
Thank you for visiting ToonGoggles, a place in cyberspace where new cartoons can be viewed and your opinions heard. ToonGoggles believes in the power of children, and we urge both children and their parents to use and enjoy our website. Your privacy is important to us. Because many visitors to the ToonGoggles Site are children, we make efforts to ensure that children access only the content that is appropriate for them. ToonGoggles is committed to complying fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. To better protect your privacy, and to help ensure a rewarding online experience for all visitors, we provide this Privacy Policy summarizing our online information practices. We urge children to check with their parents before entering information on any website and we urge parents to discuss with their children restrictions regarding the online release of personal information to anyone they don't know. ToonGoggles.com is operated by Toon Goggles, Inc. of Reno, Nevada USA. ToonGoggles and its affiliated entities are collectively referred to in this Privacy Policy as "ToonGoggles", "TG", "we", or "us".
1. The Information We Collect
At ToonGoggles.com, it is our policy to create website content that requires minimum collection of information from our visitors. Generally, ToonGoggles.com limits our collection of information from children to what is known as non-personally identifiable information, such as screen name, birthday, gender, state, zip code and country of residence. For children under the age of thirteen (13), we will ask for the child's email address, which will not be stored in a retrievable form but instead using a "hash" or unique code generated from the email address that will allow us on a one-time basis to respond to an inquiry from the child, such as regarding a lost user name or password. We may also ask for a parental email address for children under age 13 who register in order to provide notice to the parent that his or her child would like to participate in registration for certain interactive features. For individuals age 13 and over, we may collect and store an email address to use in the case of forgotten passwords and to send newsletters and/or marketing information which the individual has consented to. This information is collected so children can participate in interactive nature and activities, such as online polls, surveys, rankings and other opinion input mechanisms of the Site, without giving unnecessary personally identifying information. For some other activities, such as entering contests or sweepstakes, we may ask visitors to provide a first name and email address. For other activities, such as when sending an email or posting comments and links to the Site to a friend via third-party websites and servers, we may also ask for personal information about other people. This is usually limited to only the necessary information to transfer and complete the message, such as a first name, email address, or other minimum information to communicate the message to the friend. Such email addresses and information collected to forward messages are deleted immediately when the message is transmitted. For some limited activities, campaigns, or offers, intended for parents and adults, we may ask a parent or adult to provide their name, address, email address, telephone number, fax number and/or information about their interests in and use of various products, programs and services. In order to provide appropriate customer service support for some features of our Site or improve our products, we may ask visitors to provide a first name, email address and limited information that is relevant to a customer service inquiry.
ToonGoggles.com does not condition a child's participation in any of our online activities on the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the activity.
ToonGoggles.com is committed to providing fun, safe and a secure Site for people of all ages. Because many visitors to the Site are children, we make efforts to ensure that children access only the content that is appropriate for them. In addition, we employ special measures to help children protect their privacy while online. We do not ask children to disclose more personal information than is necessary for them to participate in a particular activity, and we take steps to prevent children from posting contact information. When a child under age 13 participates in another ongoing activity that requires the collection, retention and use of personal information, we will also ask for a parent's email address so that we can notify the parent that we have received personal information from their child. We do not knowingly collect names and email addresses from children under the age of thirteen for these types of activities without notifying the parent via email and giving the parent the option to remove their child's email address from the applicable database for that activity. For specific one-time requests we receive from visitors, email addresses may be collected and used only in connection with the specific one-time request. For example, for sweepstakes and contests, email addresses are collected for the purpose of entering the online sweepstakes or contests on a one-time basis and are used to notify winners of the sweepstakes or contests once by email. Winners will be required to return a completed prize acceptance form within a designated time period.
In connection with registration for certain interactive features on the Site, we may ask users to provide certain information that is not personally identifiable such as city or state of residence, date of birth and gender. We also may ask for parental email address for children under age thirteen who register in order to provide notice to the parent that his or her child would like to participate in registration for certain interactive features which require retention of personally identifiable information. For individuals age thirteen and over, we may collect and store an email address to use in the case of forgotten passwords and to send information which the individual has requested or consented to.
When visitors come to our Site, we also may collect some non-personally identifiable information such as the current Internet protocol address and the type of computer operating system you are using (e.g., Microsoft Windows or Mac OS), the type of browser you are using (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox), the domain name of the Internet service provider (e.g., America On Line, Earthlink), your activity while visiting our Site (e.g., which of our pages you have viewed, the cartoons viewed, and the advertisements you have been shown).
2. Collection of Information by Third Parties
Our Site may contain links to other websites, including those of advertisers, whose information practices may be different from ours. Sometimes these third-party websites might conduct contests or sweepstakes that are promoted on our Site. Additionally, we and our advertisers may use third parties to serve or present the ads that appear on our Site and to conduct research about the advertisements. These third parties may view, edit or set their own tracking technologies to help present such advertisements and to measure and research the advertisements' effectiveness. 3. Use and Disclosure of Information
ToonGoggles.com may use personally identifiable information that visitors provide for such purposes as sending requested electronic messages on their behalf, and conducting contests or sweepstakes, and responding to their questions regarding our products and services. ToonGoggles.com does not disclose to third parties personally identifiable information that children provide. We use information we collect about others only to enable users to our Site to communicate with those other people, for example, by sending them electronic messages and links. Otherwise, we use visitors' personally identifying information collected in connection with certain online activities, such as contests and sweepstakes, for internal purposes only. We only keep personal information we obtain through contests or sweepstakes until we have successfully selected a winner(s), awarded the prize(s), and administer the contest or sweepstakes. Afterwards, the email addresses are deleted. We never sell, rent, or otherwise share our visitors' personally identifying information with third parties without appropriate consent. In the event we use agents or contractors to provide services to our visitors, such as helping us conduct a sweepstakes, sending prizes to winners, or providing customer service related to the activities on the Site, in these cases we require the agent or contractor to keep the information confidential and to use it only for the specific services they are performing.
We may on occasion combine information we collect through our Site with information that we collect from other sources. We sometimes use non-personally identifiable information that we collect to improve the design and content of our Site and to improve our visitors' experience on the Site. We may also aggregate, use and share non-personally identifiable information with third parties to analyze Site usage as well as to offer programs or services.
We may disclose personally identifiable information in response to legal process, or in response to a law enforcement agency's request, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situation involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our terms of use, to verify or enforce compliance of the policies governing our Site and applicable laws, or as otherwise required or permitted by law or consistent with legal requirements. In addition, we may transfer personally identifiable information about you if we or one of our business units are required by, sold to, or merged with another entity.
4. Tracking
To enhance your online experience, our Site may use software technology such as "cookies", "web beacons", or other similar technologies (collectively referred to as "Tracking Technologies"). These Tracking Technologies are used to help tailor our content, allow visitors to move between associated websites without logging into each site, and other purposes related to our management of the Site. Cookies are small text files stored locally on your machine that help store user preferences. Web beacons or "clear gifs" are small pieces of code placed on websites used to collect advertising metrics, such as counting page views, promotion views or advertising responses. Such Tracking Technologies do not contain any personally identifiable information. We may use Tracking Technologies to determine how many visitors we have and how often they visit various sections of our Site and to improve or customize the content, offerings and advertisements on our Site. For example, we may use cookies to personalize your experience at our Site, such as to recognize you by your user name and when you return to our Site, and save your password and password-protective areas.
We, our third-party service providers and/or partners may also use Tracking Technologies, such as cookies, to manage and measure the performance of advertisements displayed on or delivered by or through the Site. This also helps us, our service providers and partners to provide more relevant advertising. Moreover, we, our third-party service providers and/or our partners may use web beacons or clear.gifs or similar technologies to monitor the behavior and collect data about the visitors viewing a web page.
Log data collected on web servers supply us with aggregate information about the number of visits to different pages on our site. We use such aggregate information to improve access to content based on our visitors' browsers and operating system types to make our content available to as many users as possible. We do not link the log data collected to personally identifiable information submitted by users when participating in our activities.
You should be aware that third-party advertising service providers may also use their own Tracking Technologies and also collect aggregate log data independently from ToonGoggles.com. Different rules might apply to the collection, use or disclosure of your information by third parties in connection with their advertisements, promotions and other websites you encounter on the Internet. The use of such technology by these third parties is within their control and not ours. Even if we have a relationship with a third party, we do not control those sites or their policies and practices regarding your information. This Privacy Policy does not cover any use of information that a third party advertising service provider or advertiser may collect from you. We encourage you to investigate and ask questions directly of them in this regard. Use of a third party's Tracking Technologies is subject to their own privacy policies.
By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, you are consenting to the use of Tracking Technologies as set forth in this Privacy Policy. Although you can change your privacy preferences regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies through your browser, blocking all cookies and Tracking Technologies will affect your online experience and may prevent you from enjoying the full features offered at our Site.
